Indoor temperature data loggers

Many of our data loggers are designed to monitor temperature indoors, in a wide range of applications including fridge monitoring, building condition monitoring and academia.

If you need a data logger to be used indoors consider a lightweight and splashproof unit (IP54). These loggers are more economical than waterproof units and are suitable for all but the harshest indoor environments where a more rugged and waterproof unit (IP68) is required.

To narrow your options and to provide you with the best suitable unit for your application consider the following points:

  • If you need a data logger with a built in display for convenient access to current data, you should select a Tinytag View 2 logger. These units are protected against dust and against low pressure jets of water - limited ingress permitted - (IP65) and can be used indoors and also outdoors.

  • If you need an ATEX certified data loggers for use in hazardous areas, you should consider a Tinytag Plus Intrinsically Safe logger. These loggers are housed in a static-dissipative case that prevents ignition by static-electric discharge and can be left in danger zones.

  • If you are transporting or storing chilled or frozen foods, the following loggers are BS EN 12830 compliant TG-0050, TG-3080 and TV-4020.

  • If you need a fully submersible datalogger capable of withstanding deep depths in harsh underwater monitoring applications, you should consider our Tinytag Aquatic 2.

  • If you have any of the following measuring requirements:

    • very high temperatures
    • very low temperatures
    • rapidly changing temperatures
    • temperatures in hard to reach areas
    • surface temperatures (such as pipes)

You should consider a logger with an external probe and remember that:

Thermistor probes are suitable for general purpose monitoring. These probes are designed to meet the demands of a wide variety of applications; this range also includes surface probes for the recording of pipe work temperatures, armoured probes for use in meat processing and 1m long probes for use in composting.

PT100 probes are suitable for high temperatures up to 600°C, making the logger suitable for oven or industrial process monitoring.

PT1000 probes are suitable for low temperatures down to -200°C, making the logger ideal for freezer or cryogenic applications.

  • If you don’t need a logger with an external probe, you should choose a unit with an internal (self-contained) sensor.

You should now have enough information to return to the ‘Product Finder’ selection page and by checking a few more boxes (multiple selection are permitted), narrow your search results to one or two suitable candidates.

Because every application is different, if you are not sure which unit to use, we suggest you call +44 (0) 1243 813000 or e-mail info@tinytag.info for expert advice. We will help you to understand the features and benefits of a particular logger and choose the best available option for your application.
