How To Use Your TinyTag Data Logger

Content

Installing Tinytag Explorer Software

Install the Tinytag Explorer software following the instructions provided in the Tinytag Explorer Quick Start Guide

When prompted, enter the activation key printed on the back of the Tinytag Explorer CD packaging. If you don't have your activation key, don't worry - the software will work for 6 weeks without it, giving you time to obtain an appropriate key.

If you have misplaced your disk or need a new activation code please complete the form in the Tinytag Explorer Activation page.

Connecting a Data Logger

The diagram above shows 3 loggers (Tinytag Talk 2, Plus 2, Aquatic 2), each with a different type of connection.

Identify which connection matches your logger and follow the connection instructions below:

A – Unscrew the protective cap from the socket. Insert the plug into the socket and rotate until it slots into place, then push the plug firmly into the socket.
B – Carefully remove the lid from the logger and plug the cable into the socket.
C – Place the logger onto the inductive pad. Connection with the software should be established automatically. Do not position the pad on top of electrical equipment such as a PC or monitor, or on metal surfaces. This will disrupt communications between the pad and the data logger.

Connecting a Download Cable or Pad to the PC

The PC end of the download cable or pad terminates in a USB plug.

Insert the USB plug into the USB port of the PC. The USB plug only fits in one way, so do not force the plug into the port.

With the data logger connected (or positioned correctly on its inductive pad) proceed to the next step: Configuration.
