Our commitment to the environment in 2022 and beyond
We understand the urgency of the climate crisis and are taking continuous action to reduce our in-house carbon emissions.
At Gemini Data Loggers, we know that we have a responsibility towards the environment as a manufacturer and producer of carbon emissions.
Since 2010, our Environmental Management System has been certified to ISO 14001 standards. We have continued to work hard for more than a decade to maintain this standard, and we are pleased that we once again passed a successful surveillance audit for ISO 14001:2015 in July 2021 with no non-conformities.
We are striving to reduce waste throughout the company, especially during production and manufacturing processes. Last year, we introduced biodegradable packaging to reduce our contribution to the problem of plastic waste. We also transitioned to a paperless office to cut paper waste.
As part of our ongoing commitment to the environment, we are continuing to lower our carbon emissions across our business operation wherever possible. This includes following a carbon management plan to target areas where we can reduce our emissions, as well as fostering environmental awareness across our company and encouraging our colleagues to make conscious decisions about the environment.
In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have also introduced a hybrid working policy, enabling our colleagues to work from home where possible and reducing emissions from transport.
Where our emissions cannot reasonably be reduced, we are offsetting our carbon footprint by investing in sustainability projects that help to protect our environment. We are sponsoring a global portfolio of programmes that support access to renewable energy in developing countries and avoid deforestation in some of our world's most precious woodlands and rainforests.
Tinytag data loggers themselves support a vast number of projects that make a positive difference to the environment and help to combat the adverse effects of climate change. Some of our recent customer stories include how temperature data loggers have been used to investigate the effects of climate warming on cold-adapted organisms in Antarctica and how underwater Tinytags have been used to understand how local biodiversity is threatened by human activity and rising seawater temperatures.
We want to do all that we can to protect our planet - and our future. Visit our applications page to find out more about how Tinytags are used in the fight against climate change.
